Happy Tails ADOPTED Labs
Our Featured CoverGirl!
Jamie is a gorgeous, loving, BIG sweetheart of a girl who needs your help! We knew before pulling her from an Upstate shelter that she was heartworm positive, which will require treatment, but that is pretty common in our area of the country when irresponsible owners do not take proper preventive care of their pets. Jamie also is a poster child for unknowledgeable, backyard breeding. With her undershot jaw and crooked teeth, Jamie is capable of the most pathetic, lopsided smile which is going to help her raise money for the special orthopaedic surgery she will require on her rear leg.
Jamie has a congenital problem in which a shallow tibial groove has allowed her patella (kneecap) to luxate (twist inward) and therefore, through continuous stress, has torn her anterior cruciate ligament. She gets around well, but has a permanent limp. The condition will only get worse and we want to help Jamie have the active, pain-free life she so deserves - she is one of the best Labs we've ever brought into rescue despite her medical issues!!
Jamies is not only raising money for her surgery, but is also raising awareness of the importance of genetic testing BEFORE breeding. Stop by and meet Jamie at the brand new doggy boutique, Lucia's, on Daniel Island! She will be meeting and greeting at the shop as she undergoes heartworm treatment, fundraises for surgery, and awaits her furever home!
